Purchasing & Sales Support Coordinator
Location: Orchard Park, NY (relocating to Cheektowaga, NY before winter)
Salary: $60, 000 - $65, 000/year (Based on experience)
Our client, a growing equipment and supplies distributor, is seeking an experienced
Purchasing & Sales Support Coordinator to join their team. This is a key operational role responsible for supporting purchasing, inventory management, vendor communication, and sales order coordination.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within an
equipment, industrial supply, or distribution environment and be comfortable reviewing, analyzing, and managing
purchase orders, inventory needs, vendor communication, and order fulfillment issues.
This is not a traditional customer service role —the company is looking for someone who is analytical, proactive, and able to investigate problems, identify solutions, and improve processes.
Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and manage purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment
- Coordinate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, shipping updates, and order issues
- Track inventory levels and assist with purchasing decisions and projections
- Run purchasing, inventory, and sales reports to support operational planning
- Research open sales orders and identify causes of delays or fulfillment issues
- Match purchase orders with invoices and verify order accuracy
- Communicate order status and timelines with vendors, customers, and internal teams
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and follow-up notes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Work closely with leadership to resolve issues and improve workflow
