Title: Purchasing Specialist

Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary: $75k-$90k/yr.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support manufacturing operations by sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely procurement of products and services. This role works closely with Production, Engineering, and Suppliers to maintain inventory levels, reduce costs, and support efficient manufacturing operations.

Job Duties:
  • Source and purchase raw materials, equipment, and services to support manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and establish cost-effective purchasing agreements.
  • Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate material availability while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Create, track, and follow up on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Resolve supplier delivery, pricing, and quality issues as they arise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to understand material requirements and project needs.
  • Research new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and procurement documentation.
  • Support inventory control processes and internal purchasing audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and industry standards.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, purchasing software, and inventory management systems.
  • Strong understanding of procurement practices, vendor management, and inventory control.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or similar certification is a plus.
