SLB is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist in Houston, TX, to support strategic sourcing and procurement operations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with buyers to implement sourcing strategies across assigned commodities, ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery expectations. You will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, monitoring procurement performance, and supporting operational efficiency within the supply chain.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong analytical and negotiation skills, and builds effective vendor relationships. This role offers the opportunity to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and contribute to overall procurement excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives in collaboration with buyers
  • Negotiate optimal pricing while balancing quality and delivery requirements
  • Ensure commodities are delivered on schedule, at negotiated cost, and meet company quality standards
  • Manage purchase order processes, including confirmation, expediting, and order updates
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and develop alternate sourcing options as needed
  • Monitor supplier performance, including delivery, quality, and on-time metrics, and take corrective action
  • Manage blocked invoices, GR/IR balances, and PPV reporting; identify and resolve variances
  • Utilize Order Management tools and manage exception messages to ensure the timely resolution of issues
  • Maintain vendor records, reports, and compliance with procurement requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or a related area
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with procurement or ERP systems (e.g., SAP preferred)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
