Purchasing Specialist I will be responsible for material planning and purchasing of semiconductor
equipment parts to support operations for Hitachi High-Tech America, Inc. This position will
interface with both global and domestic suppliers as well as customers and engineers on current
and emerging purchasing and supply chain issues and any other duties/responsibilities assigned by
managers.
The desired applicant must have a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant purchasing material planning
experience. Four-year college degree in business administration or relevant major is a plus. The
Purchasing Specialist I must be well organized and have the ability to make decisions guided by
procedures as part of the supply chain team. Effective communication and presentation skills,
negotiation and problem-solving skills are required. Some domestic/international travel is
required. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is necessary. Basic knowledge of
SAP or other MRP operations systems is required.
Generate standard reports and work with the team to explain routine and transactional issues
that support purchasing decisions.
• Responsible for routine supplier follow-up, processing orders, and monitoring the purchasing
activities.
• Support RMA activities as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and management , to explain the purchasing results and
identify supply chain risks.
• Be able to create meaningful analysis in the daily operation to execute planning actions from
MRP review
• Will manage the accuracy of data in system.
Participate in reviewing the current purchasing method and give recommendations to improve
the process under the guidance of senior team members.
• Be able to utilize and generate report/chart of purchasing reports.
• Understand the impact of each purchasing decision to the bottom line. Will independently catch
errors and correct them when needed.
• Effectively identify day-to-day problems and solve them with minimum supervision
• Explain and present purchasing/supply chain data management
• Be able to demonstrate a positive contribution to team goals and objectives within assigned
responsibilities.
• Develop teamwork and cross functional engagement within supply chain team
High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred
EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in purchasing & material planning
• Background in managing purchasing accounts and suppliers
• Semiconductor industry experience is a plus
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%

• Effectively explain and present purchasing/supply chain data to managers.
