Job Summary The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for leading daily procurement operations and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials, supplies, and services necessary to support company operations. This position is responsible for purchasing raw material and consumables, manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and contracts, monitor inventory levels, and drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and service standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with experience in fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environments. Job Duties and Responsibilities - Responsible for daily purchasing and procurement activities
- Review and approve purchase orders and requisitions
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and evaluate supplier performance
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, logistics, and accounting departments
- Track shipments and resolve delivery or quality issues
- Analyze purchasing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and reports
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
- Train and supervise purchasing personnel
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Resolve supply, quality, service and invoicing issues
- Support the development and implementation of purchasing policies and procedures
- Monitor procurement KPIs including supplier performance, cost savings and on-time delivery metrics
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing, procurement or supply chain experience
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- CPSM, CPP or other relevant credentials
- Experience in manufacturing or textile industry environments
- Familiarity with inventory control and forecasting processes
