Description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | PURCHASING & SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYST | GAINESVILLE, GA (ONSITE)

A growing manufacturer and distributor of specialty parts is hiring a Purchasing & Supply Chain Analyst to own procurement of product from domestic and international suppliers, plus the operational materials that keep its warehouse, office, and facilities running. This is a hands-on buyer's seat for someone who already lives in import/export compliance, international freight, and hard-nosed vendor negotiation — not a coordinator role. You will own landed cost end to end, from HTS classification and tariff exposure to freight mode and final delivery, and your negotiations will directly shape product pricing and margin. For a buyer who wants their sourcing decisions to move the P&L instead of just processing POs, this seat carries real ownership.

  • Anticipated $75,000–$85,000, based on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • Employer-sponsored life insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching
  • Full-time, onsite Monday–Friday at the corporate headquarters

Overview

  • Own sourcing and purchasing of parts and components from domestic and international suppliers, securing best total cost of ownership on price, terms, lead time, and quality
  • Manage all import/export documentation and trade compliance — HTS codes, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin
  • Coordinate international freight across ocean, air, and ground with freight forwarders and customs brokers
  • Keep the company compliant with U.S. Customs regulations, Section 232/301 tariffs, and related trade policy
  • Buy operational materials, supplies, and equipment for internal departments; issue and track POs and resolve receiving discrepancies
  • Track landed cost — duties, tariffs, freight — so product can be priced accurately
  • Manage inventory levels and lead times to prevent both stockouts and overstock
  • Drive cost-saving strategies: supplier consolidation, alternate sourcing, shipment optimization
  • Build supplier relationships that hold quality and on-time delivery; resolve supplier issues fast
  • Deliver purchasing and cost reporting for executive review

Skills & Experience

Required

  • 5+ years hands-on purchasing experience, with 3+ years focused on global sourcing and international imports
  • Working command of import/export regulations, customs compliance, and international shipping documentation
  • Proficiency with HTS codes, tariff structures, and trade-compliance rules
  • Track record of negotiating favorable terms and lowering total cost of ownership
  • ERP/procurement software plus advanced Excel for analysis and reporting

Ideal

  • Direct experience with Section 232/301 tariffs and their effect on sourcing strategy
  • Automotive experience, especially restoration or aftermarket parts
  • Comfort working across multiple freight methods (ocean, air, ground)

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
  • Grounding in inventory management principles and best practices
