The Project: Plans and leads the delivery of proposals, following Mace processes, to produce high quality and accurate responses in line with the company's brand, position and processes. Translates win strategies and business objectives into smart, compelling, consistent, customer-focused, error-free documents and presentations, project managing activity through department bid plans and escalating risk to Sales/Account/Opportunity leadership where required. The proposal manager leads and contributes to improvement activities and projects that improve Mace''s ability to win work as directed by their line manager.

You'll Be Responsible For :
Guides stakeholders in the analysis of client's goals, drivers and ambitions, client's technical and commercial targets, market and competition analysis, aligned with governance standards (e.g. Go No-Go, Golden Rules Review etc) is in place.
Facilitates workshops with the wider team to develop a compelling proposition.
Works with Marketing and Communications teams and other stakeholders to develop and execute external communications and account-based marketing activities.
Analyzes tender documentation to review, analyze and support relevant tender priorities, adhering to processes.
Undertakes detailed client/project/scope/stakeholder/competitor research to better understand opportunities
Champions the strategy within the entire sales team.
Analyzes client documents to define requirements, deliverables, set deadlines and owners.
Owns the program, highlighting interdependencies and monitoring / reporting on progress.
Leads internal and external progress meetings -kick-off / regular progress meetings, supporting the team through client/site/ progress meetings.
Engages with external consultants/SMEs.
Appropriate dissemination, communication of client tender question responses and facilitation of appropriate action in response.
Gathers and issues questions required to the client.
Managing inputs and outsourcing to support proposal production, including 4D visualization, media/microsites and external printing (as required).
Takes a proactive lead role in the writing of standard content/CVs/project profiles - closing gaps where possible by interviewing /questioning relevant parts of the business, proof/copy edits responses to ensure compliant.
Ensures all required reviews and adjudication / sign-offs are achieved in line with internal processes.
Takes the lead on the program, ensuring content is fully compliant and quality checked to deliver a proposal to deadline.
Facilitate storyboarding of presentations, creates additional supporting content - printed models/video/ large-format printing, capturing all new content within Mace's internal library
Leads or supports (as directed) improvement activities and projects which may be focused on improving work winning team performance, or competence and capabilities, including lessons learnt/best practice.
Shares best practice and experience with the global sales community within Mace and with peers via networks such as the APMP.
Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You'll need to have
Demonstrable experience in proposal management and delivery within professional services environments, ideally within the built environment sector.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
Excellent written English skills, including editing and proofreading content to ensure accuracy, consistency and high-quality submissions.
Proven experience developing compelling proposal content and tailoring responses to client requirements and bid strategies.
Experience creating supporting media and content, including storyboarding, stakeholder engagement, review and editing processes.
Demonstrable experience developing content for microsites and other digital proposal platforms.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate contributions from technical teams, sales colleagues, marketing teams and external suppliers.
Proven people management experience, including line management, delegation, coaching, training and performance evaluation.
Proficient in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word and PowerPoint, with experience using Mural or similar online whiteboarding tools.
Competence in Adobe Creative Cloud and other content development tools.
Strong influencing, facilitation and communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels.
Demonstrable experience working in client-focused environments, with a strong understanding of stakeholder needs and business objectives.
Minimum of five years of proposal-focused experience, preferably within a professional services or built environment organization.
Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism, English, Project Management or a related discipline (or equivalent) is preferred.
