SUMMARY
Performs facility Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) work on all manufacturing equipment. Duties include:
• Installation, programming, troubleshooting, management of robotic systems, and repair of PLCs. • Proactively maintains all plant electrical systems, all equipment, electronics, motors, drives, and other power transmission systems. • This position also has the responsibility to perform any and all mechanical and electrical tasks as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include but are not limited to the following:
• Possess the skill and ability to perform the top Maintenance position in the plant and perform all mechanical and electrical duties required. • Write advanced AB PLC logic program. • Troubleshoot and repair PLC circuits. • Design and assemble control circuits and cabinets with user interface. • Analyze current machinery for PLC automation implementation. • Troubleshoot program specifications. • Specify motor drives. • Maintains service plant switchgear. • Maintains a running log on barrel and screw inventory changes history and throughput. • Maintain hours and completion of work orders in the CMMS FIIX.
Perform all manufacturing plant electrical and electronic diagnostics, repair, and installation consistent with plant electricians. Ability to determine when scope of job is beyond existing skill set or requires additional support. Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree in Electronics or equivalent training (i.e., Fundamentals of PLCs Programming Controllers Troubleshooting and Repair of PLCs) 3 years practical electronics experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position has a transitioning work environment. Office, computer, manufacturing plant, and outdoor environments are normal. The noise level in the plant environment is usually high as normal for a manufacturing plant. Some of the work in the operating units may require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, fall protection, hard hats, etc.
