Python AI Agent Developer

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Python developer to design, build and support AI-driven customer experience applications. You'll develop AI agents and agentic workflows, build REST APIs and batch processes, and help keep applications secure, reliable and well documented.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI agents using Model Context Protocol (MCP) standards
- Build and optimize agentic workflows using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Devin
- Architect scalable, production-ready AI systems with strong error handling and monitoring
- Develop REST API services and batch processing solutions in Python, including job scheduling
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI agents into existing infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and tune agent performance and reliability
- Run code reviews and mentor junior developers on AI development best practices
- Write and maintain documentation for system architecture, APIs and deployment procedures
- Run unit tests and peer code reviews, and maintain internally developed applications
- Evaluate and performance test third-party products
- Build IT controls into applications to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of professional experience in technical design and coding
- Strong Python skills, including the libraries used to build REST API services
- Hands-on experience developing REST APIs, processing batch files and scheduling batch jobs in Python
- Solid understanding of RESTful architecture
- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- Experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen or similar orchestration tools
- Experience with AI-assisted development ( "vibe coding ")
- Strong understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
- Experience with unit testing, release procedures, coding standards, documentation and change management
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare industry experience, especially in care management or provider domains
- Database experience with SQL, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra or similar
- Experience with Microsoft Office and flowcharting tools such as Visio
