Description
Job Title: Python Developer
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Position Overview
The Python Developer will be part of RISK Americas, supporting the digitalization of operational processes through the design, development, and maintenance of automation tools and interconnected applications. The role focuses on transforming manual and fragmented workflows into reliable, scalable, and well-controlled solutions that improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and support the integration of risk processes and metrics into Limit Reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Python-based applications, automation tools, and internal modules.
Build automation tools for complex data investigations, risk analysis, and workflow management.
Develop scripts and applications to automate manual processes, including ETL of data from legacy formats into structured systems.
Design and implement reporting modules, automated commentary generation, and systematic escalation workflows.
Integrate data from multiple sources, internal APIs, and third-party systems.
Write clean, scalable, well-documented, and well-tested code.
Monitor and optimize automation tools for speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
Collaborate with Risk users, analysts, and technology teams to support user acceptance testing and production deployment.
Deliver robust Python solutions, including scripts, workflows, tools, and applications aligned with RISK standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong expertise in Python and its ecosystem.
Experience with Pandas, NumPy, and Openpyxl for data processing and spreadsheet automation.
Strong SQL and relational database experience.
Experience consuming RESTful APIs.
Knowledge of Git, unit testing frameworks, and software engineering best practices.
Experience building automated workflows, reporting modules, or notification engines.
Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and business relationship skills.
Experience working with complex IT systems in a results-driven environment.
