Python SQL Data Engineer Financial Services

We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong Python and SQL expertise to support data integration, analytics, and reporting initiatives within a financial services environment. The ideal candidate will have experience building scalable data pipelines, working with large datasets, and supporting cloud-based data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL/data pipelines using Python and SQL
• Process and analyze large financial datasets from multiple sources
• Build and optimize data models, transformations, and reporting workflows
• Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to support data-driven initiatives
• Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance
• Support cloud-based data platforms and automation processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and advanced SQL
• Experience in financial services, banking, asset management, or insurance
• Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modeling
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control tools

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Spark, Airflow, Snowflake, or Databricks
• Exposure to BI/reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
