Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Software Quality Assurance Analyst maintains responsibility for writing and executing the test plan, translating business requirements into executable tests and generating test results to determine the production readiness of new software and software patches. He/she should effectively communicate with development, management, and the test teams to ensure business requirements have been met and all QA software release documents have been generated.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review requirements with project teams for testability.
• Conduct test case reviews to ensure business requirement coverage.
• Create and maintain requirement and test case traceability using HP ALM. Author test scenarios and test cases utilizing use cases, wireframes and business requirements.
• Execute functional, integration and regression test.
• Identify, confirm and report defects in an understandable and reproducible way.
• Analyze test results looking for defect trends.
• Integrate new functional test into the regression test set.
• Identify repeatable test steps and flag for test component creation.
• Create repeatable test components using HP ALM.
• Proactively escalates issues, problems, and status to management.
• Track and monitor assigned projects.
• Proactively offer testing and QA process improvement recommendations.
• Provide accurate and complete test documentation and reports in a timely manner.
• Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment.
• Research tools, methods and technology trends to support testing objectives.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Minimum of 2+ years experience in a software QA/QC environment
• Minimum of 1+ years experience with web-based application testing
• Experienced in functional test design, execution, and analysis.
• Thorough understanding of development and testing life cycles (SDLC/STLC).
• Knowledge of industry standard test practices and strategies.
• Experience developing test data.
• Ability to communicate using both technical and non-technical "layman's" terms to an audience.
• Ability to execute pre-written SQL scripts.
• Experience with browser compatibility testing

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Applied Mathematics

OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strict attention to detail.
• Creativity in proactively developing approaches to problems and recommending actions to management, or implementing the recommendations.
• Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Strong team player, willingness to do whatever it takes to complete assignments on time with quality.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• QAI, ISTQB, CSTP, CSTAS, CTFL or CTAL Certification.
• Experience with HP Quality Center or the HP ALM test suite.
• Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Experience with mobile application testing across multiple technologies such as, but not limited to; J2ME, Blackberry, Android, Symbian, .NET Technology.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations
