Are you a seasoned Quality Assurance professional who thrives on finding issues before they become problems? DFPS is seeking an experienced QA Associate / Analyst 3 to support mission-critical enterprise applications serving Texans across the state.

This role is ideal for a senior manual QA professional with strong testing methodology, backend validation, and documentation skills. If you enjoy digging into requirements, validating data, identifying defects, and collaborating with technical and business teams to deliver high-quality software, we' d love to hear from you.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We' re looking for a senior Manual QA Analyst, not an automation engineer.

Successful candidates will typically have experience in:

• Enterprise application testing
• Government, healthcare, or financial systems
• Data validation and reconciliation testing
• Defect lifecycle management
• Structured SDLC environments
• Documentation-heavy QA processes

Candidates with strong SQL skills, experience validating conversion data, and a methodical approach to testing will stand out.

What You' ll Do

• Create, execute, and maintain detailed manual test cases and test scenarios
• Perform system, integration, regression, data conversion, batch processing, UI, and web service testing
• Validate business requirements and workflows across complex enterprise applications
• Execute backend data validation using SQL and PL/SQL queries
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects using ALM and/or JIRA
• Support data migration and conversion testing efforts
• Validate interfaces, APIs, and system integrations
• Participate in release validation and production support testing activities
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA leads, and program stakeholders
• Support accessibility and browser compatibility testing efforts as needed

Required Experience

• 8+ years of enterprise QA and software testing experience
• 8+ years testing web-based applications including UI, database, batch, and web service testing
• 8+ years creating detailed manual test cases and test scenarios
• Strong experience performing manual testing in complex enterprise environments
• 5+ years working with ALM and/or JIRA for defect management and test tracking
• 5+ years writing SQL and PL/SQL queries for backend validation and test data setup
• Experience testing data conversions and migration efforts
• Experience testing APIs, web services, and batch processes
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Experience working closely with business users, developers, and cross-functional teams

Preferred Experience

• Accessibility testing (WCAG, ADA, Section 508)
• JAWS, Wave, CCA, or similar accessibility tools
• Salesforce application testing
• SharePoint environments
• Browser testing tools
• Selenium, LoadRunner, or other automation tools
• State government, healthcare, or highly regulated environments
