Client Overview:
Our client is a longstanding beauty company based in NYC with products available in specialty cosmetics and retail stores globally. This company is well known for being a market leader in their category and well-liked by customers. The company is looking for an experienced QA Associate - Beauty & Cosmetics who is familiar with COAs and Quality documentation to assist with a busy period.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr - $40/hr Based on years of industry experience

Position Overview:
This is a part-time QA Associate - Beauty & Cosmetics position, and our client is seeking someone who can work 20 hours a week spread out over the week, during daytime hours. The QA Associate - Beauty & Cosmetics is NOT a night/weekend position. This is well suited for someone with 2+ years of Quality Assurance experience in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities of the QA Associate - Beauty & Cosmetics:
  • Responsible for working autonomously, with some guided support. They will need to efficiently manage their work and their time as they are completely remote on East Coast hours.
  • Review and Verification of Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
  • Review batch documentation and approve finished product testing results prior to release.
  • Oversee 3rd party testing labs and ensure validated methods are used.
  • Ensure testing (stability, microbiology, preservative efficacy [PET]) meets regulatory and brand standards.
  • Act as liaison for the execution of method validation and micro-suitability.
  • Confirm the completeness and accuracy of batch records.
  • Evaluate and approve test methods and specifications.
  • Develop quality metrics and KPIs.
Required Experience/Skills for the QA Associate - Beauty & Cosmetics:
  • 2 - 5 years or more of Quality experience reviewing COAs, batch records, and test methods in a regulated setting.
  • Experience reviewing test methods for the lab, including stability and microbiology testing.
  • The QA Associate - Beauty & Cosmetics should have strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and reliably as a remote, part-time associate.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office in a professional environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the QA Associate - Beauty & Cosmetics:
  • Experience in Quality or in the lab within the beauty industry.
  • Experience working remotely.
  • Flexibility to work part-time, 3 - 4 days/week during business hours supporting the NYC office.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in the Sciences preferred.
  • With related experience, at least an Associate's degree (in any field) is required.
