Job Description:
The client is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer specializing in Database Testing to support enterprise application and database quality assurance initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing automated testing solutions, developing test scripts, executing database validation strategies, and ensuring data integrity across complex systems.
This role requires strong experience in automation testing, database testing, regression testing, performance testing, and test planning. The candidate will collaborate with database administrators, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to validate system functionality, identify defects, and ensure reliable application performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop automated database testing frameworks and scripts.
Create automated test scenarios and execution plans for database applications.
Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and testing environments.
Perform functional, application, regression, and database testing.
Validate data integrity, database transactions, stored procedures, and business rules.
Execute automated and manual test cases as required.
Identify, document, track, and verify software and database defects.
Analyze requirements and ensure adequate test coverage.
Collaborate with development and database teams to troubleshoot issues and improve system performance.
Maintain testing documentation, execution results, and quality metrics.
Participate in requirements reviews, design discussions, and testing strategy meetings.
Support continuous testing activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with test automation strategy and framework enhancements.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and project planning activities.
Support customer interactions during testing cycles.
Provide testing status reports and quality assurance metrics.
Ensure compliance with organizational testing standards and procedures.
Support release validation, deployment testing, and production readiness efforts.
Required Skills:

8%2B years of experience prioritizing test scenarios and creating execution plans.
8%2B years of experience developing test plans, test cases, and test environments.
8%2B years of experience performing functional, application, and regression testing.
Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
Ability to interpret business and technical requirements and update test documentation accordingly.
Strong analysis, planning, and management reporting skills.
Ability to quickly acquire business knowledge within assigned functional areas.
Strong teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work directly with customers and stakeholders during testing cycles.

Preferred Skills:
2%2B years of experience with Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and related documentation templates.

Experience supporting database-centric enterprise applications.
Experience working within government or public sector environments.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Certifications:
ISTQB Certification preferred.
Certified Software Tester (CSTE) preferred.
Agile/Scrum Certification preferred.
