Duration: 6 Months
Pay Range: $35 - $40/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)

Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with expertise in Java, Selenium, and AWS to join our team. This is a senior-level position requiring a deep understanding of both functional testing and automation. The successful candidate will own the AWS-hosted regression framework and process, ensuring robust and reliable test automation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in QA across functional and automation.
• Strong proficiency in Java — ability to write and debug framework code, not just scripts.
• Experience with Selenium, Cucumber/BDD, and solid SQL skills.
• Proven experience in debugging, fixing, and improving automation frameworks in AWS (EC2/ECS, S3, SQS, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM).
• Track record of measurably reducing regression runtime and flakiness.
• Experience with Jenkins/CI-CD, Maven, Git.
• Strong analytical mindset; ability to work independently through intermittent, ambiguous failures.
• Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.

Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in BFSI industry.
• Experience in integrating and maintaining suites in CI/CD.
• Experience partnering with DevOps and Development teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and execute functional test cases; validate data directly via SQL.
• Build, extend, and refactor the core automation framework (UI, API, and service layers).
• Own the AWS automation framework — permanently fix cloud failure modes.
• Harden environment provisioning, seeding, teardown, and secrets management.
• Implement resilience in the framework — retry with backoff, health checks, and readiness gates.
• Improve the end-to-end AWS regression process — reduce runtime via parallelization and sharding.
• Analyze logs and stack traces to isolate root cause; classify failures appropriately.
• Integrate and maintain suites in CI/CD; partner with DevOps and Development to clear infrastructure blockers.
