QA Automation Tester — CT DCF / Covendis

This is a hands-on QA Automation Tester supporting Connecticut DCF’s CCWIS child welfare system. The role combines automated testing, manual testing, API/backend validation, performance testing, accessibility testing, and Agile delivery support.

What the person will do

  • Create and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
  • Perform UI, backend, API, regression, integration, performance, database, mobile, security, and manual testing
  • Build automated test scenarios from Agile acceptance criteria
  • Work with developers, Product Owners, operations, users, and other stakeholders
  • Maintain test plans, test cases, test data, scripts, results, and QA documentation
  • Support CI/CD and automated testing through Azure DevOps
  • Test REST, SOAP, WCF, Web API, XML, and JSON integrations
  • Validate ADA/Section 508/WCAG accessibility, browser compatibility, and mobile compatibility
  • Track defects through resolution and support enterprise system integration testing

Core must-have skills

  • 5+ years with the Azure DevOps suite:
    • Azure Boards
    • Azure Repos
    • Azure Pipelines
    • Azure Test Plans
    • Azure Artifacts
  • 5+ years of automated testing using UFT and VBScript, or another programming language
  • 5+ years with automation frameworks, manual testing, test methodologies, and test strategies
  • 5+ years working in Agile environments
  • Experience automating:
    • UI testing
    • Backend testing
    • API testing
  • Participation in at least two large-scale Agile software development projects
  • CI/CD, regression, integration, performance, database, security, mobile, and accessibility testing
  • Strong enterprise QA documentation and defect-management experience
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Ability to pass DCF child-protection and FBI fingerprint background checks
