Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Report directly to the VP of Quality, Food Safety, and Regulatory Compliance.
- Support the Supplier Quality Program by uploading and maintaining documentation within TraceGains and other customer-specific electronic and paper-based systems.
- Maintain annual updates of required regulatory and customer documentation.
- Respond to third-party requests for documentation including statements of compliance, specifications, label documentation, and related materials.
- Manage FDA Bioterrorism Registration for all production facilities and warehouse locations on a biannual basis.
- Manage export certifications for the EU, China, and Chile within the FDA export module database.
- Serve as liaison with customer representatives and outside certification agencies, including Kosher and Halal organizations.
- Review and approve finished product labels for compliance with FDA regulations, including:
- Layout
- Ingredient declarations
- Nutrition facts
- Product claims
- Work independently under tight timelines to support Sales and Marketing needs across approximately 650 SKUs.
- Utilize the Genesis program to generate accurate Nutrition Facts Panels for new and revised products.
- Review and approve licensing items for regulatory compliance and brand protection.
- Maintain product specification sheets.
- Manage and maintain QA information within GIM for all SKUs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, food manufacturing, or labeling compliance preferred.
- Working knowledge of FDA labeling regulations and food industry compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with TraceGains, Genesis, GIM, or similar systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Work Environment
This position operates in both office and manufacturing environments and may require interaction with plant personnel, regulatory agencies, and external certification bodies.
