QA Engineer Automated III

Quality Assurance (QA) & Testing | Playwright | Automation | Hybrid

Location: Austin, TX 78751 (Hybrid – Onsite + Telework, local candidates preferred)
Pay Rate: $61.44/hour
Duration: 06/02/2026 – 08/31/2026
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (excluding State holidays)

 

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced QA Engineer Automated III to support critical Quality Assurance initiatives for the PCS Contract Operations team. This role supports a major modernization effort focused on enhancing the System Contract Operating and Reporting application to create a more robust and comprehensive platform for contract management, monitoring, compliance, and reporting activities.

 

This position is part of the Administrative Applications Software Quality Assurance team and requires a senior-level QA professional with deep expertise in both automated and manual testing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing automated test strategies, building and maintaining test scripts, executing performance testing, managing defect tracking, and supporting testing across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.

 

Candidates must have strong experience with Playwright or similar automation tools, Agile methodologies, and enterprise-level QA practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Playwright or similar automation frameworks
  • Create and maintain test scripts for both manual and automated testing processes
  • Execute manual testing as required to validate functionality, integrations, and system performance
  • Develop test plans, execution strategies, and prioritization for testing scenarios
  • Perform performance testing and validate system stability, scalability, and reliability
  • Track test case execution and ensure complete test coverage across functional requirements
  • Establish automated test schedules and reporting processes for recurring validation cycles
  • Use Jira to log, track, manage, and resolve defects throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) to ensure complete testing alignment
  • Support development teams across development, testing, UAT, and production environments
  • Troubleshoot failed test cases and identify root causes of defects or automation failures
  • Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities as needed
  • Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Perform accessibility testing where required to ensure compliance standards are met
  • Provide on-call support when necessary for production validation and issue resolution
  • Create and maintain documentation for automated testing processes and QA procedures

 

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Manual Test Script Execution experience
  • 8+ years of Automated QA Testing experience
  • 8+ years of QA Test Script Creation experience
  • 8+ years of Performance Testing experience
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software QA processes and test lifecycle management
  • Experience working independently on complex assignments with minimal supervision
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of QA Automated Test Case Reporting experience
  • 5+ years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, Playwright, WebdriverIO, and JMeter
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile, Scrum, Jira, XRay, or Zephyr
  • 3+ years of Accessibility Testing experience
  • Experience supporting UAT and production deployment validation
  • Experience working within large enterprise or government environments
