QA Engineer Automated 3

Location:Austin, TX
Duration: 3-Month Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer Automated 3 to support a large-scale contract management modernization initiative for the PCS Contract Operations team. This role will focus on both automated and manual quality assurance activities for applications supporting agency contract management, compliance, and reporting functions.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience designing and executing automated testing frameworks, creating robust test scripts, and supporting Agile software delivery teams throughout the SDLC lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Playwright or similar automation technologies
  • Create and execute manual and automated test scripts
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
  • Develop automated execution schedules and reporting processes
  • Track test execution results and defect resolution activities
  • Use Jira and related QA management tools to log, track, and manage defects
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Support testing efforts across development, QA, UAT, and production environments
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities when required
  • Troubleshoot failed test cases and support issue resolution efforts
  • Participate in on-call support activities as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of manual test script execution experience
  • 8+ years of automated QA testing experience
  • 8+ years of QA test script creation experience
  • 8+ years of performance testing experience
  • Strong experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently on complex QA initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
    • JavaScript
    • HTML
    • Playwright
    • WebdriverIO
    • JMeter
  • Experience with Jira, XRay, or Zephyr
  • QA automated test reporting experience
  • Accessibility testing experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise or government applications
