Trident Consulting is seeking an "QA Engineer" for one of our clients in "Fremont, CA" A global leader in business and technology services.

Location: Fremont, CA (Onsite - 5 days/Week in client office is mandatory)

Job Description:
- About the project: This team is part of Purchasing and Payable and Payments.
- What this team is reapable for: many of these apps are in 10 years legacy system. These team is debugging and checking and breaking the apps. They need to get contexts for all of that and build for the future. Some apps are being rebuilt. Some may be transitioned to newer tech stack.
- Reason why this is open: Backfilling someone who is not able to wrap up
- Technical skill set: SQL, Python, Selenium
- Could make exception with candidate that come from Java background with Playwright - but must be comfortable pick up Python
- Nice to have: Finance knowledge, if they do not have that, they need to be curious to learn these apps.
- Persona:
- Fast paced environment- be able to work under the pressure
- Confident- able to clearly articulate, explain
- Motivation - willingness to learn
- Curiosity
- Asks questions when something is not clear.
- Communication: Comfortable saying: "I haven't worked on this directly, but I've done something similar. Given the opportunity, here's how I would approach it."
- Direct and transparent; does not beat around the bush.
- Independent - Don't limit to just doing what being told to do. IF given an open ended problem, ask the right questions and do their own research. Not a lot of handholding. Faster ramp up.
- 30/60/90 Day's expectations:
- 2 weeks learn the platforms, apps, systems
- 30 days: should be able to handle a sprint by themselves
- 60/90 days: handle apps by themselves.
- Why Python:
- Migrating from Python to Playwright. Need to understand and have knowledge. If they have Playwright and Java that is okay as long as they have need to be able to learn Python. "I am not from Python background, I can't do that" They will write the code to test the code, how to automate the code they are getting. WRITING CODE TO TEST THE CODE. HOW TO AUTOMATE THE PIECE OF CODE THEY ARE GETTING IN PLAYWRITE & PYTHON
- Why Selenium:
- Due to legacy migrations, the team needs a strong understanding of how Selenium works. The scripts and frameworks are part of older systems that require modernization. The team is moving toward building automation frameworks as standalone applications. Experience with Jenkins and automated pipelines is a nice to have.
- Why SQL:
- Will be writing queries focused on Intex/Jones. The role involves working with tables and application backends that link to different databases. They need to understand which queries to construct and which tables to use.

- 2nd round in person (2 round 45 mins each) technical
