QA Engineer w/Contact center

As a QA Engineer you will make an impact by designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications that support contact center operations and customer engagement platforms. You will be a valued member of the delivery team, collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, QA teams, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing customer service solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java 7/8, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot, following Agile and industry-standard SDLC practices.
• Lead the development of scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and backend services supporting contact center, IVR, customer interaction, routing, and agent desktop applications.
• Leverage Java 8 functional programming features including Lambda Expressions, Streams API, Functional Interfaces, and Collections Framework to build efficient and maintainable solutions.
• Analyze business and contact center requirements, prepare technical designs, and develop robust solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Develop integrations between contact center platforms such as Amazon Connect, Avaya, NICE CXone, Genesys, and Cisco, with enterprise systems including CRM, authentication, reporting, ticketing, and workforce management applications.
• Support IVR enhancements, self-service applications, call routing workflows, customer authentication services, and CTI integrations.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce development standards, mentor team members, and provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot application, API, and contact center integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions.
• Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, security, and availability requirements for business-critical customer service operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives.

What you need to have to be considered

• Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java 7/8, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Contact Center technologies, IVR platforms, CTI integrations, and customer interaction applications.
• Experience integrating contact center solutions with CRM, authentication, reporting, ticketing, and workforce management systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies and SDLC processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, mentor developers, and conduct code reviews.

These will help you stand out

• Experience working with Amazon Connect, Avaya, NICE CXone, Genesys, Cisco, or similar Contact Center platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8 functional programming concepts including Lambda Expressions and Streams API.
• Experience supporting customer authentication services and self-service applications.
• Exposure to performance tuning, scalability optimization, and application security best practices.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and operations teams in large-scale enterprise environments.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $55,000pa - $71,000pa depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
