Description
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
a. Leads through effective goal setting, communication, and coaching.
b. Directs and assigns personnel, provides assistance as needed.
c. Trains and advises employees on current daily needs. Leads personnel to improve performance and productivity.
d. Evaluates, formulates, and implements employee corrective actions.
e. Notify and work with Production Management when problems arise.
f. Maintain an open dialogue with assigned team.
g. When approached with feedback and concerns resolve the problem in the most direct and positive way possible.
h. Ensure all company policies are followed.
a. Supervise personnel ensuring work standards are followed.
b. Ensures product meets or exceeds quality incoming and outgoing product specification, agreed upon by the customers and suppliers.
c. Works with customers and USDA to ensure labels meet regulatory requirements.
d. Assures compliance with all company safety rules and GMPs.
e. Ensures that random audits are performed on approved suppliers, verifying that the supplier is meeting or exceeding expectations.
a. Leads all third-party audits to include formal responses and corrective actions as required.
b. Liaison between USDA and the production team.
c. Ensure products are produced to customer specification and are defect free.
d. Ensure that scale labels have all regulatory requirements set forth by USDA and the customer.
e. Ensures technicians are trained on proper work standards, maintain all proper documentation and are in their assigned areas monitoring product or defects.
f. Ensure that temperature checks are being performed on product.
g. Perform plant audits and inspections as related to Quality of product and needs to produce a quality product.
Provide assistance when necessary with product evaluations.
Ensures all administrative tasks are completed timely and accurately.
May assume other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field preferred but not required.
§ Certification Required: HACCP
§ Certification Preferred: FSMA
§ Minimum of 5 years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience required
§ Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
§ Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and/or Access) to analyze data and trends
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
§ Ability to speak, read, and write English
§ Good verbal and written communication skills
§ Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
ACTIVITIES:
May require working on feet for long hours, bending, and stooping.
HEARING:
Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
REPETITIVE MOTION:
Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.
VISUAL ABILITIES:
Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for the majority of their work days
