Join Our Team as a QA/Lab Technician!

Sigma Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented QA/Lab Technician to support our client in Shreveport, LA. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with laboratory, quality assurance, manufacturing, food production, feed mill, or quality control experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

If you have strong attention to detail, good math and Excel skills, and are comfortable working in a laboratory and feed mill environment, we'd like to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products following established procedures.
  • Utilize proper laboratory techniques to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of laboratory tests, production batches, and quality data.
  • Notify production and management teams immediately when quality issues or failure conditions are identified.
  • Operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Perform general laboratory housekeeping, including:
    • Washing laboratory equipment
    • Sweeping and mopping floors
    • Cleaning work surfaces and counters
    • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Follow written procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Assist with additional quality assurance and laboratory tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in a feed mill environment
  • Able to tolerate heat, dust, and industrial conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
