SUMMARY: 

The QA Label Room Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all labeling and packaging materials comply with quality standards before they are used in production. This role is crucial in preventing labeling errors, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring product integrity. The inspector will work closely with production, packaging, and quality control teams to perform inspections, verify accuracy, and document findings.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in a related field preferred). 
  • Previous experience in quality assurance, labeling, or packaging, ideally in a regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, food, or manufacturing). 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect errors. 
  • Familiarity with quality control standards such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and FDA regulations. 
  • Basic knowledge of document control and inventory management. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficient in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English; fluency in Spanish is a plus. 
  • Forklift experience preferred.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of Oracle and Agile 
  • Coordinate orders with site Purchasing Associate. 
  • Accept and process deliveries of printed materials.  
  • Inspect and unpack incoming labels and packaging materials to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, GMP, etc.). 
  • Generate collection plans after incoming inspections. 
  • Verify that all labels have correct information such as product name, lot number, revision, and other required data before use. 
  • Verify labels and quantities against supplier packing lists and perform physical counts. 
  • Approve labels for use in production after inspection, ensuring they meet the required specifications. 
  • Print, verify, approve and issue master shipper labels as needed per production schedule. 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, including any deviations or non-conformance reports (NCR). 
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external labeling requirements, including health and safety standards. 
  • Conduct regular checks to identify any issues related to label quality, printing errors, or material defects. 
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to address issues or discrepancies in labeling. Communicate inspection findings to supervisors and suggest corrective actions. 
  • Manage label inventory, ensuring that labels are stored properly in a temperature-controlled environment and are available for production needs in their proper locations. 
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and company policies related to labeling and packaging. 
  • Perform monthly cycle counts.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. repeatedly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and reach in various directions.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Must be able to handle machinery to reach labels on top locations at different heights.
  • Ability to push and pull items as necessary.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small labels and packaging materials.
