Job Title: QA Lead Public-Facing Digital Applications
Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Duration: 12 months Contract
Hours: 35 hours/week, Monday Friday
Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to support the testing and quality assurance of public-facing digital applications and guided user experiences. The QA Lead will be responsible for leading QA activities, creating test strategies, managing test execution, tracking defects, and ensuring high-quality, accessible, and user-friendly digital solutions.

This role requires strong hands-on QA experience, leadership skills, experience testing browser-based applications, and the ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end QA and testing activities for public-facing web applications.
  • Review requirements and project artifacts for completeness, clarity, and testability.
  • Develop and maintain test strategy, test plans, test cases, test scripts, traceability matrix, test estimates, defect reports, and QA status reports.
  • Assign tasks to QA team members and track progress.
  • Execute functional, regression, sanity, compatibility, integration, and browser-based UI testing.
  • Create, validate, and manage test data.
  • Track, report, and support the resolution of defects using test management tools.
  • Identify test scenarios suitable for automation and performance testing.
  • Maintain QA documentation in shared repositories.
  • Support deployment activities and overall SDLC QA processes.
  • Communicate QA progress, risks, issues, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of Quality Assurance experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a QA Lead working on complex enterprise solutions.
  • Experience testing public-facing software applications.
  • Experience using SDLC/test management tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or Quality Center.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver using Java.
  • Strong experience creating and executing test cases based on requirements.
  • Experience validating technical requirements and integrations between system components.
  • Experience with real-time and batch data transfer testing.
  • Strong understanding of browser-based UI testing, HTML-based applications, functional testing, and compatibility testing.
  • Understanding of API/Web Services testing tools such as SoapUI or Postman.
  • Understanding of file formats such as CSV, XML, and JSON.
  • Understanding of performance testing processes and tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong issue investigation, resolution, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive tasks to completion.
Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience in testing mobile native applications.
  • Understanding of HTML.
  • Understanding of SOA architecture, SOAP, and REST APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with SoapUI and Postman automation features.
  • Knowledge of XML data models, such as NIEM.
  • Practical SQL knowledge for testing and data validation.
