QA Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for defining and executing a strategy to improve our capabilities to deliver high quality software in an agile environment. This includes creating a test strategy and automation frameworks for integrating commercial products, internal software, and interfaces between systems, while advancing our architectural goals. This person also will establish release management processes to production in collaboration with key IT staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with IT leadership to devise overall strategies for product delivery
  • Promote continuous improvement and help teams increase productivity and foster innovation
  • Work with agile delivery teams to understand product vision and product backlogs
  • Define and execute a quality assurance strategy while tailoring the approach for individual projects
  • Drive development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses
  • Creation and management of test data for use by automated scripts
  • Oversee the development and execution of test plans and monitor and report on test execution
  • Design and manage a configuration management process for transferring changes between development and production environments.
  • Work closely with IT governance in developing quality standards and best practices; identify program deviance from standards, and suggest modifications to ensure compliance
  • Manage a team of quality assurance engineers and consulting partners

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of experience in a related position in financial services.
  • Proven knowledge of a standard software quality assurance methodology, components, deliverables, and how these integrate within the software development lifecycle is required.
  • Flexibility in operating within a dynamic highly fluid environment
  • Microsoft .NET knowledge; Strong knowledge of Transact SQL, Microsoft SQL Server
  • Automated testing tools, e.g. Rational, Load Runner, Test Director, Mercury
  • Strong understanding of configuration management tools
  • Knowledge of at least one source control tool with preference for Perforce
  • Broad knowledge of technology development, infrastructure and support environments
