Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Seeking an experienced QA/QC Field Inspection Specialist to ensure quality, safety, and compliance across solar PV and energy storage installations and service work. This role is responsible for conducting field inspections, auditing workmanship, and serving as the on-site representative for escalations and complex field conditions.

The position also supports disaster recovery, surge response, and backlog reduction initiatives across assigned regions.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Inspections & Quality Assurance 
  • Conduct onsite inspections of solar PV and energy storage installations and service work
  • Validate work against company standards, NEC requirements, OEM specifications, and AHJ codes
  • Identify defects, safety risks, and compliance gaps; document findings with photos and detailed reporting
  • Confirm system readiness for PTO, PVT, and long-term serviceability
Field Representation & Escalations 
  • Serve as the on-site company representative for customer concerns and escalated service issues
  • Interface with customers, service providers, AHJs, and internal teams to drive resolution
Workmanship & Compliance Oversight 
  • Audit third-party service providers for adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and contractual expectations
  • Support enforcement of quality standards and corrective actions for underperformance
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and jurisdictional regulations
Disaster Recovery & Surge Support 
  • Deploy in support of disaster recovery events, grid impacts, and high-volume service needs
  • Perform rapid system assessments, triage issues, and support restoration prioritization
  • Assist with backlog reduction and targeted field initiatives
Reporting & Insights 
  • Document inspection results and trends within designated systems
  • Provide feedback on recurring issues related to materials, installation quality, and process gaps
  • Support KPI tracking tied to quality, first-time resolution, and repeat service drivers
Continuous Improvement 
  • Identify root causes of repeat visits, partial completes, and failed inspections
  • Contribute to SOP development, training initiatives, and process improvements
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve field execution and service outcomes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in solar, electrical, or field service operations
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, energy storage, and residential electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of NEC and local jurisdictional requirements
  • Experience with field inspections, QA/QC, or technical audits
  • Ability to troubleshoot installation and performance issues in the field
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned region 50% 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Electrical license or experience working under a licensed qualifier
  • Experience with Salesforce Field Service (FSL) or similar platforms
  • OSHA 10/30 certification or equivalent safety training
