Job Title: QA Receiving Inspector

Job Description

A growing advanced manufacturing company is seeking a QA Receiving Inspector to support quality operations by inspecting incoming materials and ensuring they meet internal standards, customer requirements, and technical specifications. This role is well-suited for someone who wants to build a long-term career in quality assurance, manufacturing, or materials inspection and enjoys hands-on work in a production environment with a strong focus on accuracy and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and verify incoming raw materials for quality, accuracy, and compliance with established standards and specifications.
  • Perform detailed visual inspections using documented procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
  • Document inspection results thoroughly and maintain accurate quality records in company systems, including basic data entry using Excel or similar tools.
  • Verify material labels, certifications, and all supporting documentation to confirm conformance to requirements.
  • Identify and communicate non-conforming material issues promptly to Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams.
  • Assist with quality-related activities such as rework, special inspections, audits, and testing as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • Properly handle, store, and dispose of materials in accordance with safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Read and follow work instructions, procedures, and specifications accurately to ensure consistent inspection results.
  • Use basic measurements, weights, and unit conversions to validate material characteristics and quantities.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across quality, receiving, and production to support smooth material flow.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts when required by production demands.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, receiving inspection, or production preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, and incoming material inspection processes.
  • Ability to perform visual inspections using established procedures and specifications.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office and Excel for data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of basic measurements, weights, and unit conversions.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work safely in a production and manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to following safety guidelines, proper material handling practices, and PPE requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in quality control, receiving inspection, laboratory, aerospace, composites, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs), inspection documentation, and quality management systems.
  • Experience in visual inspection of incoming materials in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Experience in QA receiving or inspection roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to support audits, special inspections, and testing activities.
  • Comfort working with certifications, traceability documents, and other quality-related records.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing and production environment, working primarily on a 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. shift, Monday through Friday, with the potential for overtime, weekend work, or alternate shifts when needed. You will work in areas where incoming materials are received, inspected, and processed, using basic measurement tools, visual inspection techniques, and computer systems for documentation and data entry. The environment requires adherence to safety procedures, proper material handling, and the use of appropriate PPE. Work involves standing, moving materials up to 25 lbs, and maintaining a clean, organized inspection and workspace in a busy, team-oriented facility.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $68640.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
