Job Title: QA Specialist 

Position Summary

Dhaka Technologies Limited Company (DTLC) is hiring a QA Specialist on behalf of the District of Columbia Department of Human Services (DHS). The QA Specialist provides development of the project software quality assurance plan and the implementation of procedures that conform to the requirements of the contract. This software quality assurance and functional testing role requires strong knowledge of quality assurance, release management, and automation test tools such as HP QTP, UFT, and TestComplete, and provides advanced system testing support. Under general supervision and following established quality assurance procedures, the specialist designs and implements test plans, creates automated test scripts, and coordinates the creation, execution, and maintenance of test cases and automated functional test scripts so that quality control standards are achieved. The specialist also works with all QA testers to meet the testing objectives of the organization and to make continuous improvements that maximize testing coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning and Design

• Write test plans based on requirements, and apply test methodology and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies.
  
• Design test cases and execute all types of testing, including functional, integration, and end-to-end testing, across platforms such as mobile, web, and portal frameworks.
  
• Develop and maintain functional and regression tests to ensure that code is functioning as designed.
  
• Develop and maintain repeatable and scalable automation test suites, and generate manual test scenarios and test cases in a format that can be automated.
  
• Conduct test case reviews and ensure requirements traceability and proper coverage.
  

Test Execution and Automation

• Perform all technical testing efforts, including functional automated test script development and test plans.
  
• Support testing of multiple major releases in coordination with the development team and vendors, while monitoring testing activities and key internal deliverables.
  
• Provide testing support for all software applications tested by the SQA team, including testing across browser-based web applications.
  
• Write SQL queries and work with multiple database interfaces and standard web architectures.
  
• Provide production support of software products by investigating and recreating reported defects.
  

Defect Management and Reporting

• Create testing summary reports and clearly communicate all testing results to management.
  
• Provide defect status and quality metrics to the project manager so that bugs are resolved in a timely manner.
  
• Work closely with the development team to ensure that defects are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
  
• Help prioritize defects to be fixed using an understanding of the business requirements and the needs of the customer.
  

Quality Assurance Process and Compliance

• Provide development of the project software quality assurance plan and implement procedures that conform to the requirements of the contract.
  
• Provide an independent assessment of how the project software development process is being implemented relative to the defined process, and recommend methods to optimize the organization process.
  
• Conduct audits and review and analyze data and documentation.
  
• Carry out activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  
• Develop and implement procedures and test plans for assuring quality in a system development environment that supports large databases and applications.
  
• Assist project teams in determining appropriate quality goals and acceptance criteria.
  
• Participate in design specification reviews, technical documentation reviews, and business requirements review sessions, and work closely with the development team to understand how product changes affect the maintenance of test cases and the QA testing environments.
  
• Contribute to the entire software development life cycle, Agile and Waterfall preferred, from initial business requirements through deployment and production support.
  

Required Skills and Experience

• 11+ years providing defect status and quality metrics to the project manager to ensure that bugs are resolved in a timely manner
  
• 11+ years developing software quality assurance plans
  
• 11+ years developing test plans and procedures
  
• 8+ years designing, developing, and executing automated test cases from requirements using tools such as HP QTP, UFT, TestComplete, or Selenium
  
• 8+ years designing, developing, and executing test plans and test cases using HP Quality Center and ALM for writing test cases and defect management
  
• 8+ years leading all technical testing efforts, including functional and automated testing
  
• 8+ years designing and supporting user interface testing applications and regression testing software
  
• 5+ years of advanced level knowledge of writing SQL queries
  
• 5+ years of deep knowledge of healthcare operations business processes
  
• 3+ years of good understanding of Oracle 11g or 12c databases

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience (15+ years)
  

Work Requirements

• This is an onsite position in Washington, DC 20002.
  
• This contract is open to W2 or 1099 candidates only. Corp-to-Corp (C2C) candidates will not be considered.
  
• The final interview will be conducted in person.
