POSITION SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the FSQA & EHS Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Technician I will consistently follow processes and procedures to effectively measure, evaluate, and test samples of the Company product to ensure it meets food safety, quality, and customer specifications. This role involves inspecting raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and customer specifications. The QATechnician I plays a critical role in maintaining product consistency and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Complies with enforcement of all GMP policies, documentation, and record keeping in accordance with company standards. • Assists with maintaining Food Safety and Quality programs. • Conducts daily GMP facility audits with corrective action follow-up. • Enforces GMPs at the plant. • Reviews and verifies production documents. • Places out of specification product or raw material on hold status. • Advises the appropriate party of issues in a timely manner. • Conducts routine inspections and testing of raw materials, products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards. • Monitors and documents production processes to ensure compliance with established procedures and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, and SQF). • Assists in the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment (including metal detection devices) to ensure accuracy. • Collects and records data from quality tests. • Prepares reports and provides feedback to the production team. • Collaborates with the production team to identify and address food safety and quality issues in real time. • Assists in the investigation of customer complaints related to product quality and helps implement corrective actions. • Maintains clean and organized workspaces in compliance with safety and sanitation standards. • Supports internal audits and participates in continuous improvement initiatives. • Conducts pre-operational inspections at the start of production runs. • Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues promptly. • Performs other duties as assigned by FSQA & EHS Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in food science, biology, or a related field is a plus.

Previous experience in quality control, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of food safety regulations, such as HACCP, GMP, and SQF.
