Thompson First Group is seeking a QA Technician II for a direct hire opportunity with a growing food and beverage manufacturing company.
The QA Technician II is a skilled quality professional responsible for supporting food safety, quality assurance, HACCP compliance, and product release activities within a food manufacturing environment. This position serves as a resource for production personnel and QA staff while helping ensure products meet all quality and food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform GMP audits and pre-operational inspections throughout the facility.
- Monitor and verify HACCP and Critical Control Point (CCP) activities.
- Approve and release finished products and incoming raw materials.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and finished product quality analysis.
- Verify product labeling, ink coding, packaging, and specification compliance.
- Perform and oversee metal detector inspections and monitoring activities.
- Investigate product non-conformances and assist with corrective actions.
- Support SQF and food safety program requirements.
- Train and mentor QA Technicians and production employees on quality and food safety procedures.
- Assist Research & Development with new product introductions and recipe development.
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
- Compile and communicate daily quality reports and production summaries.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and food safety.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with company policies, procedures, and food safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of quality assurance experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF, and food safety systems.
- Experience performing inspections, audits, and quality evaluations independently.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to identify quality concerns and make sound decisions regarding product disposition.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:
This position is based in a food manufacturing environment and requires frequent time spent on the production floor.
