Quality Assurance TechnicianReport to: Quality Assurance SupervisorWage: Starting at $21.49 - based on experience, 8% Shift differentialSchedule: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, FulltimeSUMMARY Responsible for all aspects of quality, to maintain quality standards set by the Company. This person is responsible for all Quality Assurance testing of finished product in accordance with Westlake Pipe & Fittings standard procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Performs a variety of physical testing of product, including but not limited to; rubber ring testing, impact, quick burst, flattening, long term testing and all other required QA testingExceptional attention to detail and Strong analytical skills to identify and address quality issuesCompletes paperwork and reports as needed.Excellent written and verbal skillsUses a variety of tools and instruments to assess and inspect product.Checks the quality of finished goods, including those loaded for delivery, and returned goods for acceptance to stock.Reviews stocked pipe periodically and identifies damaged product to be removed from inventory.Must maintain area to be clean and free from safety hazards.Other duties may be assigned to assist in daily plant operations.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GED. Three years' experience or training/education in quality control.Experience with Microsoft OfficePHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
