Location                            : Torrance, CA – 90501 (Hybrid)
Project Duration           : 9+ months (Contract to Hire)

Pay Rate                            : $48 - $53 an hour on W2

Position Summary:

The Auto Sales Application IT Tester is responsible for leading quality assurance activities across Auto business applications and technology platforms. This position ensures that software solutions meet functional, integration, performance, security, and business requirements before deployment to production. The role partners closely with business stakeholders, application development teams, solution architects, project managers, vendors, and operations teams to deliver high-quality, reliable systems that support Auto's Sales strategic business objectives. Responsibilities include test strategy development, test planning, test execution, defect management, automation, and mentoring junior QA team members. The position plays a critical role in supporting large-scale modernization initiatives, cloud-based solutions, and customer-facing applications, and enterprise integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Quality Assurance Leadership

• Lead end-to-end testing activities across multiple projects and releases.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Define testing scope, entry criteria, exit criteria, and quality metrics.
• Establish QA best practices and testing standards across project teams.

·         Functional & Integration Testing

• Execute and coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support, and End-to-End testing.
• Validate business workflows, calculations, business rules, user interfaces, APIs, databases, and third-party integrations.
• Verify data integrity across applications, interfaces, and reporting systems.
• Ensure applications perform according to approved business requirements and design specifications.

·         Defect Management

• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
• Facilitate defect triage sessions with development, business, and project teams.
• Analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Verify fixes through retesting and regression testing activities.

·         Test Automation

• Design and implement automated testing frameworks and regression suites.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation and AI-assisted testing techniques.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

•         Performance & Security Testing

• Coordinate performance, load, stress, and scalability testing efforts.
• Validate application performance against defined service-level objectives.
• Support penetration testing, security validation, and compliance-related testing initiatives.

•         Project Collaboration

• Partners with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Project Managers, Solution Architects, Developers, and Operations teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party implementation partners to resolve application defects and integration issues.

•         Reporting & Governance

• Provide testing status reports, quality metrics, risk assessments, and release readiness recommendations.
• Present testing results and quality insights to project leadership and stakeholders.
• Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements related to software quality.

•         Mentoring & Continuous Improvement

• Coach junior testers and QA analysts.
• Promote testing standards, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging QA tools, AI-enabled testing approaches, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Technical Skills

•         Strong understanding of:

• Functional Testing
• System Integration Testing (SIT)
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Defect Lifecycle Management

•         Experience with:

• ALM / Quality Center or equivalent testing tool
• Jira
• SQL and database validation
• API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, etc.)

•         Business Skills

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.

Required Skills:

•         QA tester- .NET

•         7+ years of experience in software quality assurance and application testing.

•         Experience testing large-scale enterprise applications.

•         Experience working within Agile and hybrid project delivery environments.

•         .Net

•         Mainframe

Preferred Qualifications:

•         ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA, or equivalent QA certification.

•         Experience with AI-assisted testing tools and automation frameworks.

•         Experience supporting cloud modernization and legacy system replacement initiatives.

•         Knowledge of automotive services is a plus.
