The Fountain Group is currently seeking a QC Analyst -Microbiology  for a prominent client of ours. This position is located at Memphis, TN. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Microbiology Analyst I / II

Location: [Add Location – e.g., North Chicago, IL]
Duration: 7 Months (Contract)
Pay Rate: $21.13/hr
Schedule: Sunday – Thursday | 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM


Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented QC Microbiology Analyst (I / II) to support laboratory operations within a regulated environment. This role involves environmental monitoring, product testing, and raw material analysis to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in microbiology, excellent documentation practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, cleanroom setting.


Key Responsibilities

QC Analyst I

  • Perform environmental monitoring (EM) including viable/non-viable air sampling, surface sampling, and personnel monitoring

  • Conduct routine microbiological testing for product release and raw materials

  • Maintain laboratory inventory (media, reagents, supplies)

  • Follow SOPs and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) to ensure data integrity

  • Support laboratory upkeep, documentation, and general operations

  • Utilize systems such as MODA or other laboratory software

  • Review test data for accuracy and ensure timely documentation

QC Analyst II (Additional Responsibilities)

  • Perform sterility testing and endotoxin testing (raw materials, in-process, finished products)

  • Conduct growth promotion testing of microbial media

  • Prepare environmental monitoring excursion reports and assist with investigations

  • Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations (CFR, USP, ICH, etc.)

  • Support QC leadership in maintaining efficient lab operations


Qualifications

For QC Analyst I

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related Life Sciences

  • 0–2 years of relevant lab experience (cGMP/FDA environment preferred)

  • Basic knowledge of microbiology techniques and aseptic practices

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment with full gowning

For QC Analyst II

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related field

  • 2+ years of QC microbiology experience in a regulated environment

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Sterility & endotoxin testing

    • Environmental monitoring programs

    • Lab investigations and reporting


Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with instruments/systems such as:

    • BacT/ALERT, Endosafe®, PCR

    • Viable air samplers, particle counters, microscopes

  • Experience with cGMP, FDA regulations, and documentation practices


Work Environment

  • Cleanroom setting requiring strict gowning procedures

  • Fast-paced, highly regulated laboratory environment

  • Requires ability to work independently and within a team
