QC Chemist I

Location: Northridge, CA (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate: $30.00/hour
Assignment: 6-Month Contract with Potential for Extension or Conversion
Schedule: Monday-Friday

Position Overview

We are seeking a QC Chemist I to join a Quality Control laboratory supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for recent science graduates or individuals with laboratory experience looking to build their career in a GMP-regulated environment.

In this role, you will perform analytical testing on raw materials, packaging components, and finished products using a variety of laboratory instruments while ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. You'll work alongside an experienced team and receive hands-on training with industry-standard analytical techniques and instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and solutions for laboratory testing.
  • Perform analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, Gas Chromatography, Dissolution Testing, Instron, and Texture Analyzer.
  • Analyze raw materials, packaging components, and finished pharmaceutical products according to USP, NF, EP, and approved testing methods.
  • Accurately document laboratory results and maintain complete testing records.
  • Meet testing timelines to support manufacturing and product release activities.
  • Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with laboratory investigations, non-conformances, and CAPA activities under guidance.
  • Participate in training on laboratory procedures, analytical techniques, and new equipment.
  • Follow GMP, GLP, safety, and quality procedures while maintaining a clean and organized laboratory.
  • Support continuous improvement and laboratory safety initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or another scientific discipline from an accredited university preferred.
  • Candidates with at least four years of analytical laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous analytical testing experience is not required—entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to learn new laboratory techniques and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
