Job Title: Inspector - QC
Location: 77536, Deer Park, TX
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team. This role is responsible for performing inspections on commercial and nuclear components, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience with valves, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect commercial and nuclear parts/products to verify measurement and testing requirements are met.
- Verify warehouse picking accuracy by confirming part numbers and quantities.
- Review and collect product documentation, final document packets, material heat reports, and Certified Material Test Reports (CMTRs).
- Document inspection and testing results while maintaining accurate quality records.
- Partner with the Material Review Board (MRB) team to address non-conforming products and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities to ensure customer requirements are satisfied.
- Work closely with the documentation team to provide inspection reports and CMTRs.
- Conduct final inspections of assembled and tested control and safety relief valves, including:
- Visual inspections
- Reviewing documentation packages against Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
- Verifying tag plate markings meet customer specifications
- Report daily internal and external quality defects and assist with root cause investigations.
- Inspect packaging methods to ensure compliance with customer and internal standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
- Assist in training operational personnel on quality standards and best practices.
- Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Diploma in Mechanical Technology or related technical field; GED with 3-5 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience with control valves, safety valves, and safety relief valves.
- SAP ERP Quality Control experience.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and engineering prints.
- Strong knowledge of quality inspection methods and documentation requirements.
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NDE Level II certification in:
- Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
