Quality Control Inspector
Pay Rate:$25–$36/hour; Based on experience
Location: Johnstown, NY / onsite
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: Must have previous Quality Control Inspector experience in a sheet metal fabrication and machining environment
Skills: Must be able to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
Our growing client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to help ensure fabricated metal parts and machined components meet the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inspector who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.
Responsibilities of the Quality Control Inspector will include:
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of raw materials, fabricated parts, and machined components
- Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints to confirm product specifications
- Identify, tag, and quarantine non-conforming materials and parts to prevent production or shipment of defective products
- Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Certificates of Conformance (COCs)
- Maintain thorough inspection documentation and support quality standards throughout the manufacturing process
Qualifications for the role of Quality Control Inspector:
Required:
- Previous experience as a Quality Control Inspector in a sheet metal fabrication and machining environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficiency using precision measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects such as cracks, pits, and weld imperfections
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Experience in fabrication and machining
