Job Summary:
The Instrument Quality Technician serves as an advanced technician supporting the Global Instruments Quality organization within the Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repair, testing, and quality assurance of medical devices while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and final acceptance testing on medical devices
Clean, decontaminate, disassemble, and reassemble equipment following ESD and safety procedures
Analyze and interpret data to resolve complex technical issues
Approve repairs up to $2,000 and make cost-effective decisions
Provide technical support and lead training sessions for other technicians
Assist Lead Technicians with advanced repair activities
Analyze calibration and service data to ensure compliance with acceptance criteria
Oversee processing and approval routing of purchase/work orders
Maintain detailed and accurate test records and documentation
Conduct routine cleaning, decontamination, and surveillance testing of lab space
Inspect equipment, components, and materials for defects and compliance
Ensure adherence to ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards
Troubleshoot product and process issues to improve throughput and reduce defects
Maintain inventory records and support procurement of replacement parts
Required Experience:
2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
4+ years of experience in a high-volume production environment
Experience working under ISO, FDA, or similar regulatory frameworks
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and optical diagrams
Hands-on electro-mechanical repair and field service experience
Experience with medical instrumentation
