QC Lab Technician
Location: Decatur, IL
Pay: $21.42/hour
Shift: 3pm - 11pm
This dynamic entry-level position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic Quality Control laboratory environment, with a focus on professional growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Prepare process and/or finished product samples.
- Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures.
- Record results using computerized data systems.
- Complete training on one analytical aisle in the laboratory.
- Participate in plant and laboratory safety orientations.
- Work safely and comply with all department and plant safety policies.
- React immediately to eliminate hazards and report any accidents, injuries, and near misses.
- Perform at least one Laboratory Safety audit per month.
- Complete a minimum of 3 safety engagements each month.
- Demonstrate sufficient math skills for lab testing calculations.
- Demonstrate computer skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by quality department management.
Qualifications
- High school level math skills.
- Computer skills preferred.
- Good attendance and punctuality preferred.
- No previous laboratory experience required, but completion of a college science lab is preferred.
- Experience in lieu of college laboratory experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Background in science with schooling or work experience is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Instrumentation including HPLC, GC, and IC is beneficial.
- Ability to work within the time demands of a 24/7/365 workday operation.
- Ability to accept instruction, coaching, and constructive criticism for continuous improvement.
- Understanding of a laboratory environment and working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
We are looking for candidates who can multitask effectively and have a stable work history. Given the nature of our schedule, we prefer candidates who are likely to remain in a position for a longer period of time.
