About the Role:
The Maverick Power QC/QA Intern supports Quality and Operations in standardizing documentation, improving data integrity, and advancing digital workflows in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment. Primary focus is converting tribal knowledge into controlled standards, strengthening "Traveler = Truth", and enabling gate-based verification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain controlled documents: travelers, and BOM alignment.
- Perform process walks and gap analysis to fimprove process control. Support the digitization of QC/QA records in MES/Epicor, improve status accuracy, and data integrity.
- Track and analyze DPU; apply defect coding, 5-Whys, and A3 problem solving.
- Build simple dashboards (e.g., Power BI) and visual controls for line status and quality gates.
- Assist with audits (kamishibai), FAI/NPI documentation readiness, and change control updates.
- Standardize data fields, naming, and revision control to reduce variation and rework.
- Performs other job-related duties as necessary or assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong attention to detail; structured, process-oriented thinking.
- Working knowledge of Excel (data cleaning, basic analysis).
- Ability to document processes clearly and follow standards.
- Basic understanding of Lean/TPS concepts (quality at source)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MES/ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, Oracle, SAP) or manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to Power BI (or similar) for dashboards and data visualization. Familiarity with QC tools (checklists, defect tracking, FAI) and root cause methods (5-Why, A3).
- Coursework or projects involving process mapping, data analysis, or digital transformation.
- Demonstrated Kaizen or continuous improvement project experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, gloves, etc.).
- Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside.
Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
