The Delivery Lead owns flow of work, capacity alignment, and bottleneck removal across a complex, regulated LabWare project team spanning across multiple internal teams (QC, IT, QA, manufacturing) and vendors. This role is accountable for delivery outcomes, not just status reporting.
Core Responsibilities
1. Delivery Ownership (Not Status Management)
Own end-to-end delivery outcomes for the LabWare program, including upgrades, integrations, molecule onboarding, and sustainment work
Translate strategic priorities into sequenced, capacity-aware delivery plans
Ensure commitments made to QC and leadership are realistic, defensible, and met
2. Bottleneck Identification & Resolution
Continuously identify delivery bottlenecks across:
People (skills, availability, ownership gaps)
Process (intake, validation, handoffs, governance)
Vendors (resourcing, quality, responsiveness)
Actively drive resolution reducing cycle time (not explaining why it is taking too long) by:
Re-sequencing work
Clarifying decision ownership
Forcing trade-off conversations with stakeholders
Escalate only when escalation unblocks delivery, not as a default behavior
3. Capacity Management & Demand Control
Own demand intake and prioritization for LabWare-related work
Partner with technical and functional leads to:
Quantify real delivery capacity
Forecast delivery impact of new requests
Prevent over-commitment by:
Challenging assumptions
Making trade-offs visible
Recommending deferrals when capacity is constrained
4.Managing JIRA as a Delivery Instrument (Not a Tracking Tool)
Own JIRA configuration as a delivery management system, including:
Backlog structure and intake workflows
Capacity and throughput views
Release and milestone tracking
Ensure JIRA data supports:
Decision-making
Forecasting
Bottleneck visibility
Enforce discipline around:
Ticket quality
Ownership
Acceptance criteria
Traceability in a GMP context
5. Regulated Delivery in GMP Environments
Ensure delivery execution aligns with GMP and validation expectations
Coordinate with QA to:
Integrate validation into delivery plans
Avoid unmanaged production or compliance risk
Translate delivery risks into clear, action-oriented language for leadership
6. Agile Rituals, Learning Loops & Hybrid Delivery (GMP-Appropriate)
Design and run delivery rituals appropriate to a regulated GMP environment, including:
Daily or cadence-based Scrum / stand-ups (focused on flow and blockers)
Sprint planning and backlog refinement
Retrospectives focused on systemic improvements, not team therapy
Adapt Agile practices to fit project delivery standard, GMP and validation constraints, combining:
Iterative execution and feedback loops
Waterfall-style controls where required (stage gates, approvals, validation milestones)
7. Delivery Reporting & Transparency
Produce and maintain multi-layered delivery reporting, including:
Team-level execution metrics (throughput, blockers, work in progress)
Program-level views (milestones, dependencies, release readiness)
Executive-level summaries (risks, trade-offs, forecast confidence)
Ensure reporting is:
Data-backed (primarily from JIRA)
Action-oriented (what changed, what is blocked, what decision is needed)
Consistent across Agile and waterfall elements
Continuously improve reporting to reflect:
Changes in scope or capacity
GMP/validation impacts
Vendor performance trends
Required Qualifications:
Proven delivery ownership in regulated environments (pharma, biotech, med-tech)
Demonstrated experience:
Managing capacity vs demand
Actively removing delivery bottlenecks
Delivering through multi-vendor, cross-functional complexity
Hands-on experience using JIRA to manage flow and predictability, not just track tasks
Strong written communication skills with executive-level clarity
Demonstrated experience running Agile delivery rituals (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) in regulated or constrained environments
Proven ability to adapt Agile frameworks to hybrid (Agile waterfall) delivery models
Experience translating execution data into clear operational and executive reporting
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with LabWare or other LIMS platforms
Familiarity with:
QC laboratory operations
Instrument and data integrations
