Pay: $60–65/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Qt/QML C++ Software Engineer to support the development of advanced software solutions for next-generation military vehicle systems. This role will focus on developing modern, intuitive user interfaces and high-performance applications using C++, Qt, and QML.

The ideal candidate will have strong object-oriented C++ development experience, hands-on expertise with the Qt framework and QML, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, Agile development environment. Experience developing software for embedded, automotive, defense, or other complex technical systems is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software applications using C++, Qt, and QML.
• Develop intuitive, responsive, and reliable graphical user interfaces using QML/Qt Quick.
• Translate software and user-interface requirements into scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with software, systems, electrical, hardware, and other cross-functional engineering teams.
• Develop clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and integration challenges.
• Apply multithreading, networking, event-driven programming, and other advanced C++ concepts as required.
• Participate in software architecture and design discussions.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and functional testing.
• Utilize debugging and profiling tools to identify and resolve software performance issues.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum development environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Utilize Git or similar version-control systems for source-code management.
• Support software integration and deployment activities throughout the development lifecycle.
• Maintain technical documentation and communicate project status, risks, and issues to engineering leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Hands-on experience developing applications with the Qt framework.
• Strong experience with QML and Qt Quick for graphical user-interface development.
• Understanding of modern C++ concepts, including memory management, concurrency, and multithreading.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex software applications.
• Experience with Git or other version-control systems.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum software development environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with embedded software development.
• Experience developing software for automotive, defense, military, robotics, aerospace, or other complex vehicle systems.
• Experience with Qt Quick/QML UI architecture and modern UI development.
• Experience with cross-platform application development.
• Familiarity with Linux or other embedded operating systems.
• Experience with software debugging, profiling, and performance optimization tools.
• Experience with network communications and protocols.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes and configuration management.
• Experience working with hardware/software integration.
