Position Summary

Assures accurate and timely information is provided to customers using standard operating procedures for Office of Quality.

Responsibilities

1. Assures accurate and timely information is provided to customers using standard operating procedures for Office of Quality.

2. Support improvement methods to achieve successful outcomes.

3. Use evidence-based structured improvement methods for all quality improvement projects.

4. Support data collection methodology.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams regarding data collection methodology.

6. Adheres to department audit methods to assure data integrity and that systems are working appropriately to meet customer needs.

7. Maintains and advances knowledge of quality databases, both internal and external.

8. Load and extract data from current quality databases.

9. Ensure validity of data through independent reviews and queries and validate the structural integrity of manual and electronic data sets.

10. Merge varying data sets into a common definitional structure while ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timely availability.

11.Review current/proposed measure definitions, specifications, and collection methodologies of clinical and administrative data from different sources for accuracy.

12. Supports production of routine reports from databases and assists leaders and department/divisional staff in developing customized reports.

13. Uses a variety of data sources effectively, acquires knowledge and skills to effectively produce data reports.

14. Measures and reports performance on a variety of patients¿ safety, quality, and experience indicators.

15. Supports design of proactive reports to meet future reporting needs.

16. Participates in data collection and submission for the quality scorecard, reports, and dashboards.

17. Uses project management tools to communicate effectively with groups and individuals.

18. Extracts data from various systems and is able to problem solve data process/flow issues.

19. Support data-collection procedures.

20. Research information from relevant resources including national organizations to demonstrate current practice and identify opportunities for improvement.

21. Identify sources of valid and reliable information and metrics to monitor performance trends.

22. Analyze information from disparate sources.

23. Analyze comparative data, benchmarks, and evidence-based practices for possible adaptation into the organization.

24. Supports ECU Health public reporting of data and value based purchasing financial analysis.

25. Performs business plan and request for proposal quality analysis.

26. Demonstrate knowledge in the use of analytical and statistical approaches, tools, and techniques including understanding how process goals are established, measured, and monitored.

27. Select specific visualization tools that best depict the accurate representation of the data analysis.

28. Support training/coaching as appropriate.

29. Communicate improvement priorities and results using narrative and visual tools by creating graphs and charts that accurately reflect valid interpretation of findings.

30. Support a safety culture and infrastructure by engaging stakeholders to understand all perspectives when addressing patient safety issues.

31. Demonstrate knowledge of regulations and standards applicable to healthcare setting including locates updates to remain current on changes in standards and regulations.

32. Guide practice and operations with applicable regulations or standards by assessing policies and practice and conducting audits to ensure compliance.

33. Stays current with best practice standards, guidelines, accreditation and regulatory standards Independence and Leadership skills

Minimum Requirements

Associate degree or higher in applicable field or higher is required.

1 year or more experience in healthcare field

Certification in specialty preferred within 3 years & maintained thereafter.

Pay Range

$62400.00 - $90948.00
