    ABOUT THE JOB

    The Quality Associate is responsible for providing support to and oversight of operations to verify process control, product quality, product safety, and safe work practices through all stages of manufacturing, packaging, labeling and storage. Completes specific quality-related duties associated with batch manufacturing processes including inspection, monitoring, verification, recordkeeping, and approval. Works with personnel from other departments as needed to identify and resolve quality or production issues. Monitors operations and personnel for compliance with company policy and procedure, GMP, safety and other requirements.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Recommend, review, approve, conduct, and/or complete documentation for key activities in support of batch manufacturing and to assure compliance with company policy and cGMP including: line clearances; checking-in jobs (verifying material identify/quantity); required approvals and releases; batch record review including master, in-process and completed batch records; process deviations; product rework plans; other assignments as needed.
    • Inspect and monitor the batch manufacturing process and personnel work practices for compliance with cGMP and company policy.
    • Assist with development of programs and writing standard operating procedures, work instructions and other procedural documents.
    • Complete special request documentation including customer questionnaires.
    • Handle key activities in conjunction with, and as a back-up to, quality specialist including technical documents, sampling/inspecting/testing materials and products, and maintaining database information.
    • Alert production and quality managers immediately of problems impacting production.

    ABOUT YOU:

    • BS/BA in a Science background preferred but not required; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 2+ years' experience in manufacturing, QC lab, or other environment related to food, dietary ingredient, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

    Able to multi-task in detail-driven environment.

    • Knowledge of relevant SOP's, cGMP, OSHA, FDA, and related requirements preferred.
    • Detail oriented. Ability to work independently and change focus to meet changing demands. Able to use independent judgment within company guidelines.
    • Bilingual Spanish a plus
    • Effective writing and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of MS Office Systems preferred.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
    • Knowledge of CRM and ERP Systems such as JDE preferred
    • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office or production facility.
    • Must meet SQF requirements by following all applicable standards and reporting any food safety problems to Lead Process Technician, Plant Manager, or Quality Supervisor/Manager

    Expected Compensation: $23.00/hr.+ 5% bonus eligibility
