**Quality Assurance Associate - PI (R&D Technician - 6-Month Contract)** **Location:** Seattle, WA **Pay:** $23-$25/hr **Schedule:** 32 hours/week | Monday-Friday **Flexible Start Time:** 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM **Job Type:** 6-Month Contract | Onsite **Job Summary** We are seeking a detail-oriented **Quality Assurance Associate - PI (R&D Technician)** to support Food Technologists in product sampling, testing, and development activities within a food lab and kitchen environment. This is a hands-on role involving food sample preparation, ingredient weighing, inventory organization, testing support, and documentation. The technician will work closely with the **Food Technologis** t to support **daily R&D operations** and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. **This is a fully onsite role based in Seattle, WA and will involve regular work in lab, kitchen, cooler, and freezer environments.** We are ideally seeking candidates with **2-3 years of lab or related experience** , though we are also open to recent graduates with an associate degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field. **Essential Responsibilities** + Support Food Technologists with product development, ingredient testing, and lab experiments + Prepare food and product samples for internal and external evaluations + Weigh ingredients and assist with daily sample preparation activities + Operate food lab and kitchen equipment, along with select specialized equipment + Record and input testing results, ingredient performance data, and project notes into databases and tracking systems + Organize and upload ingredient specifications, product photos, and test documentation + Maintain inventory of samples and ingredients in coolers and freezers, including labeling, storage, rotation, and disposal + Track incoming ingredients and ensure proper organization of materials used in projects + Maintain clean, organized, and compliant lab and kitchen workspaces + Support ongoing operational, food safety, and quality standards + Perform additional related duties as assigned **Communication & Organization** + Communicate daily priorities, schedules, and project updates with R&D leadership + Maintain accurate physical and electronic records for projects and testing activities + Support team coordination in a structured lab environment **Food Safety & Compliance** + Follow all food handling and sanitation procedures including: + Proper storage of food and ingredients + Handwashing and hygiene protocols + Sanitization of prep and lab areas + Opening and closing procedures + Adhere to all R&D safety and quality protocols + Conduct routine quality checks on stored ingredients and samples + Ensure proper disposal of expired or unused samples **Qualifications** + Associate degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred + 2-3 years of experience in a lab, food production, QA, or related environment preferred + Open to recent graduates with relevant education and hands-on lab experience + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills + Comfortable working in food lab, kitchen, cooler, and freezer environments + Ability to accurately document data and follow SOPs + Strong communication and teamwork skills **Dress Code & Work Environment** + Business casual attire appropriate for lab and kitchen environments + Full-length pants or jeans required + Closed-toe shoes required at all times + Lab coat provided by the company **Physical Requirements** + Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift + Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 30 lbs + Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments as needed **Ideal Candidate** Someone who enjoys hands-on lab and food product work, is highly organized, and can thrive in a collaborative R&D environment supporting food testing and product development initiatives. \#CB #P1 #P2 As part of our promise to talent, Kelly supports those who work with us through a variety of benefits, perks, and work-related resources.
