Description
The Quality Assurance Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction by managing nonconforming material, supporting corrective action activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve quality processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Review and disposition nonconforming, WIP, and finished goods material
- Investigate quality issues and support corrective actions and claims
- Coordinate rework and repass activities
- Analyze quality trends and recommend improvements
- Support audits and quality system requirements
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, and Quality teams
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
- Experience in steel manufacturing or service center environment preferred
- Understanding of metal standards, tolerances, and defects
- Experience with quality systems, corrective actions, or ERP systems a plus
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Regular interaction with plant operations and office teams
- Occasional travel between company locations
- Time-sensitive decision-making environment
