Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer, Nuclear
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Type: Direct Hire
Work Model: Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and execution of quality assurance program across nuclear, DoE, DoD, and aerospace projects.
  • Review customer purchase orders, work travelers, procedures, repair/replacement plans, machining instructions, welding documents, drawings, and QAPs prior to work execution to ensure clarity of quality requirements.
  • Perform in-process review of testing and inspection work travelers to verify adherence to customer and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee and perform inspection activities throughout the production cycle, including witnessing and hold point execution of welding, machining, NDT, and other inspection activities.
  • Support receiving inspection of customer parts and maintain QA-controlled inventory, verifying incoming materials against specifications.
  • Compile and review data packages pre-shipment to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with customer formatting and content requirements.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, prepare audit documentation, and respond to findings to maintain audit readiness.
  • Interface with customers and the Authorized Nuclear Inspector (ANI) on quality-related matters, communicating technical requirements professionally.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within QA procedures and support the implementation of controls as the business expands.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality assurance system or department.
  • Knowledge and experience with welding symbols, codes, and standards interpretation.
  • Experience with NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, ANSI N45.2, and ASME BPVC Section III and VIII quality requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear technical and quality requirement articulation.
  • Experience implementing QA programmatic controls in a growing business environment.
