Salary Range: $140,000 – $180,000 (DOE) or equivalent hourly rate

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Assurance Engineer/Lead to support a major gas infrastructure expansion project within the Client and midstream sector.

This role is responsible for end-to-end quality management, ensuring compliance across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases. The ideal candidate will bring a systems-level QA mindset, strong leadership capability, and the ability to operate independently in a multi-phase project environment.


Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Planning

  • Establish and implement project quality requirements and standards
  • Define equipment criticality classifications
  • Review and endorse quality plans from engineering and project partners

Procurement & Supplier Quality

  • Provide quality specifications for supplier qualification
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations with a focus on quality criteria
  • Review and contribute to RFQ/RFI responses and contractual quality language

Fabrication & Construction

  • Coordinate and support shop inspections and supplier evaluations
  • Develop and implement:
    • Field inspection protocols
    • Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
    • Non-conformance (Client) tracking and resolution processes
  • Conduct field assessments, reviewing workmanship and test documentation

Project Coordination & Execution

  • Resolve quality specification gaps across project interfaces
  • Serve as point of contact for quality-related RFQ/RFI inquiries
  • Establish and manage documentation systems for final turnover
  • Support quality tracking and reporting using systems such as Smart Completions

Requirements (Must Have)

  • 15+ years of Quality Assurance experience in Client, midstream, oil & gas, or large industrial capital projects
  • Proven experience leading quality across multiple project phases (engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction)
  • Strong background implementing and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) — not limited to inspection roles
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a self-directed leader, managing priorities with minimal oversight
  • Hands-on experience with supplier quality, technical bid evaluations, and RFQ/RFI processes
  • Proven ability to coordinate across engineering, procurement, construction, and third-party stakeholders
  • Experience developing and managing:
    • Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
    • Field quality protocols
    • Non-conformance (Client) systems and resolution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on Client or gas infrastructure expansion projects
  • Background in inspection, fabrication, or field quality, with progression into QA leadership
  • Familiarity with Smart Completions (Hexagon) or similar systems

Work Environment

  • Office-based role (Beaumont/Houston area)
  • Travel ~15% for site visits and supplier assessments
  • 40–50 hours per week, primarily weekdays with occasional weekend work
  • Small project team environment with high visibility


Education: College degree preferred; high school diploma required
