PGS Worldwide is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in Wayne, NJ for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will support quality evaluation, inspection, product sell-off, nonconformance processing, ESD checks, customer submittals, and quality documentation for production hardware and related program activity. This role requires strong drawing interpretation, quality process knowledge, customer communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced defense manufacturing environment.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline with relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline with 4 6+ years of experience, or 8 10+ years of engineering/technical experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings, prints, and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal customers, multiple organizations, functional teams, and U.S. Government representatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn company software and data management programs.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no oversight.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with rework and repair processing.
  • Experience with production hardware and/or software processing.
  • Understanding of customer requirements and flow-down into program execution and tasking.
  • Experience reviewing and inspecting product.
  • Experience supporting product sell-off to DCMA.
  • Ability to create nonconformance documentation when needed.
  • Ability to perform daily ESD checks.
  • Experience creating DCMA submittals.
  • Experience using tools such as microscopes, calipers, scanners, printers, copiers, and Microsoft Office.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • No security clearance required.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Technical field.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Prior Quality Assurance Engineering experience.
  • Experience with program process definition and documentation.
  • First Article Inspection experience.
  • AS9102 experience.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Hands-on experience in a defense contracting environment.
  • AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning exposure.
  • Experience with manufacturing of complex electronic assemblies.
  • Experience presenting product to customers for acceptance or sell-off.
  • Experience preparing documentation packages for customer review.
  • Hardware inspection criteria experience.
  • Quality Management Systems experience, including AS9100.
  • Quality auditing experience.
  • Configuration control and hardware configuration reporting experience.
  • Root Cause Corrective Action participation.
  • Experience with FAI, DCMA, nonconformance documentation, ESD compliance, hardware inspection, electronic assembly quality, customer acceptance, and production quality support.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems.
  • Support quality protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
  • Develop and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation methods.
  • Review and inspect production hardware and related product documentation.
  • Support product sell-off to DCMA and customer representatives.
  • Create nonconformance records when required.
  • Perform daily ESD checks.
  • Prepare DCMA submittals and documentation packages.
  • Support rework and repair processing.
  • Verify customer requirements are flowed into program execution and tasking.
  • Work with internal teams, external stakeholders, and government customers to resolve quality issues.
  • Use inspection tools and office equipment to support quality review and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective action, configuration control, and quality system compliance as needed.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • 1st shift, Monday Friday.
  • 9/80 schedule.
  • 7:00 AM 4:30 PM.
  • No overtime expected.

Pay

  • $38.51/hour
